To sign on to Okta at MSRI go to: https://msri.okta.com . Provide the same username (without "@msri.org") and password combination you use to login to your computer:
Once you begin to use Okta, it's not hard to see the advantages of SSO. You may wish to add your personal web sites to this SSO portal. Okta allows you to do this while still protecting your information. No MSRI IT or Okta employee can view or manipulate this information. If you wish to add websites useful to you, here is what you do:
1. Sign On to Okta.
2. Use the tabs at the top of your application list to create a new tab (using the + sign), choose a name which makes sense to you. In this case, a tab called "personal" was created:
3. Open the newly created tab.
4. Click "Add Apps" at the top of the screen:
5. You can choose from a list of thousands of applications. In this case, we will add Wells Fargo (personal banking) to the SSO gateway for a personal account on-line.
6. Type "Wells Fargo" in the Search field and click "Add".
7. Return Home by clicking "Home" at the top of the screen.
8. You will notice Wells Fargo added under the "work" tab. Click and drag the "Well Fargo" tab to the "Personal" tab at the top to move this tab.
9. Next, assign a password by clicking on your newly added application and providing your username & password.
10. After that, the application will be added. You can use the Wells Fargo button to sign on to Wells Fargo without providing a username or password.
